Habitat For Humanity Or Greater Charlottesville
The Charlottesville area suffers from a severe affordable housing crisis. Many hard working families have no choice but to rely on public housing, and are left without access to homeownership.
Habitat of Charlottesville is responding to these needs by building more affordable housing, and also by offering counseling to families who could qualify to be a Habitat homeowner but for a problem with their credit history.
Harold and Clarissa Folley and their five children are a current Habitat Partner Family. Harold has been living in Charlottesville’s public housing for two generations. He now works for Virginia Organizing, a statewide grassroots organization dedicated to challenging injustice by empowering people in local communities to address issues that affect the quality of their lives. Harold was named one of the area’s Distinguished Dozen in 2009 and is a true hero in our community.
Habitat of Charlottesville has been proud to work alongside this amazing family and will be welcoming them to their new home this holiday season. Your contributions make this all possible.
There are many more families like the Folleys who struggle to find decent and affordable shelter. With your help we can continue supporting the hard working families in this community as they work with Habitat to achieve a better life.
Please think of Habitat of Charlottesville, CVC #3995, when designating your gift this season.
