Dogs On Death Row (DODR)
Tony and Kim purchased their first home in 2002. Tony wanted a dog but Kim did not.
One day while Tony was making a delivery for his job, Kim decided to ride with him. As Tony took the delivery into the store a man walked by with his puppy. The puppy sat down in front of the store and would not get up. Kim commented to the man that the puppy sure was tired. The man said they had been walking all day. He could not keep the puppy and was looking for someone to take her. Tony walked out of the store and the man asked him if he wanted a dog. Tony said yes and asked the dog’s name and was told her name is Sheba. Tony assured Kim that he would be responsible for Sheba. Tony took very good care of Sheba and Sheba adored her new master. In 2010 Tony was diagnosed with a terminal illness and died the next year.
Kim loved Sheba but still did not want a dog in the home. Kim asked her friends if they wanted to adopt Sheba, with no luck. Finally, Kim called the local animal shelter. The shelter told Kim if they could not get Sheba adopted they would have to put her down. Kim didn’t want Sheba but did not want Sheba killed. Kim looked at animal charity organizations on-line and contacted several.
Dogs On Death Row (DODR), did everything to find a home for Sheba. DODR called other organizations and put Sheba’s picture out there and was able to find four homes for Sheba. Kim was so grateful that she wanted everyone to know the help and support she received from DODR. http://www.dodr.org/
